Grand Master
Our Grand Master earned International recognition as the head of one of Canada’s leading schools in Martial Arts, the J.J. Tae Kwon-Do school, and, as head of the World IIn-Tae Kwon Martial Arts Federation.
As holder of a 9th Degree Black Belt (the highest rank possible), Our Grand Master has been promoting Taekwondo-Chungdokwan around the world since he began training at the age of 13. By 1963 he was instructing the Korean army, and upon his discharge, he was accepted into the Korean Police as instructor of the force.
Following a Charity demonstration in Singapore, the Singapore Tae Kwon-Do Association asked Master Lee to remain to instruct for them. After a few years in Singapore, Grand Master Lee left for a world tour of teaching and demonstrating Tae Kwon-Do. During this time, Grand Master Lee was approached by the Canadian Ambassador to Korea and asked to come to Canada, as Canada needed what Grand Master Lee had to offer. In 1970, Master Lee settled in Calgary and began his highly qualified and respected school system.
From Grand Master Lee’s beginnings, he has embarked on a road that has taken him to an understanding far beyond the punching and kicking of Taekwondo-Chungdokwan. Over the last sixty years Grand Master Lee has developed Taekwondo-Chungdokwan from an art form to that of a “Martial Science”.
As a result of his intensive study and deep understanding of the connection of the mind and body, he has taken Taekwondo-Chungdokwan to its next level of evolution, IIn Tae Kwon. In studying the way each technique is performed kinetically, to the regimented practice that is required to master the technique, our Grand Master has developed a system of teaching that shows the student how they can utilize both mental and physical training to achieve, and become, a totally balanced martial artist, regardless of style.
Recently, Grand Master Lee has been appointed to the World governing body of Taekwondo, where he continues to improve the face of the Martial Arts world wide
